Hi, I’m Aruna, the founder of The Write Studio.
I’m originally from India and now live in the U.S., where I teach young writers across America, India, and Australia. Before The Write Studio, I worked as a journalist, book editor, and corporate communicator, so I’ve spent years doing the very thing I now teach: finding the real idea, shaping it clearly, and revising until the voice comes through.
Since 2020, I’ve worked with more than 100 students. I’ve helped them move past “I don’t know what to write” and into the harder, better work of choosing a topic, building a draft, cutting what doesn’t belong, and making the writing sound like them. Some of my students have gone on to write and publish their own stories, build novel-length projects, and share their work with real readers.
Secret Essay Society grew out of that work.
Inside, students learn the same craft moves I teach in my writing studio: how to find a topic that does not sound recycled, how to build a personal narrative or montage, how to revise without flattening the voice, and how to make every scene prove something. This is not an admissions guarantee. It is not a list of “perfect” essay topics. It is not a high-pressure strategy package designed to make your child feel behind.
